Frequently asked questions
Can wood particles damage the nozzle?
PLA Wood is slightly abrasive. A 0.4mm nozzle or larger is recommended, preferably made of hardened steel, for prolonged printing without premature wear.
Is an enclosed chamber necessary for printing PLA Wood?
No. It prints with an open chamber like any PLA. Recommended temperature: 200–230°C, bed at 60–80°C, fan on, speed 50–100 mm/s.
Is the wood grain visible in any print orientation?
The wood effect is more pronounced on flat surfaces and with visible layer lines. Slower speeds and thin layers enhance the textured appearance.
How should I store PLA Wood filament?
Store in an airtight bag with desiccant in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. PLA is hygroscopic — moisture causes bubbles and irregularities in the print.
