Frequently asked questions
Do wood fibers damage the nozzle or cause blockages?
No. Smart3DPT Wood PLA uses specially formulated short fibres to prevent clogging and abrasion, making it fully compatible with standard brass nozzles without the need for upgrades.
Is an enclosed chamber necessary for printing PLA Wood?
No. Temperature: 190–210°C (classic) or 210–240°C (high speed). Bed above 45°C, glass or PEI surface, fan at 100%.
Can printed parts be sanded and painted like wood?
Yes. Parts made from Smart3DPT PLA Wood can be sanded, painted, varnished, and treated like real wood, allowing for complete post-processing for an even more natural result.
How should I store PLA Wood filament?
Store in an airtight bag with desiccant in a dry place. Humidity affects wood fibres and can cause irregularities and extrusion problems during printing.
