⚙️ PLA CF (Carbon Fiber) – THE FILAMENT by Spectrum
THE FILAMENT by Spectrum PLA CF is a technical filament based on PLA reinforced with carbon fibers, designed to offer greater rigidity, excellent dimensional stability, and a professional finish, while maintaining the ease of printing typical of PLA.
It is suitable for functional parts, rigid prototypes, lightweight structural components, and technical applications where precision and a matte appearance are important (without the need for high thermal resistance).
🔹 What makes PLA CF special?
-
Carbon fiber reinforcement — greater stiffness and less flex.
-
Excellent dimensional stability — precise and consistent prints.
-
Premium matte finish — technical and professional appearance.
-
Very low shrinkage — reduces the risk of warping, ideal for open printers.
-
Simple printing — maintains the ease of PLA, even when reinforced.
-
Fully compatible with 1.75 mm FDM printers, including Bambu Lab, Creality, Prusa, Anycubic, Elegoo, Artillery, Flashforge, and FLSUN.
-
Diameter: 1.75 mm ± 0.03 mm
-
Net weight: 1kg
✅ Advantages
-
Stiffer and more stable than conventional PLA.
- Ideal for rigid supports, technical enclosures, jigs & fixtures, functional prototypes, and aesthetic parts with an industrial look.
-
Matte finish that hides print lines.
- Lightweight parts with excellent precision and surface quality.
⚙️ Printing Parameters
-
Extrusion temperature: 200 – 230 °C
-
Heated bed: 50 – 70 °C
-
Layer fan: 50 – 100%
-
Print speed: 40 – 80 mm/s
-
Recommended nozzle: hardened steel, ruby, or equivalent (abrasive material).
💡 Notes and Recommendations
- Due to carbon reinforcement, always use wear-resistant nozzles.
- Store in a dry place — PLA CF is sensitive to humidity.
- Dry before use to ensure maximum quality and consistency.
- Not recommended for high-temperature applications (natural limitation of PLA).
- Suitable for those seeking rigidity, stability, and a professional appearance with easy printing.
